Common questions
Where is my order?
Orders are dispatched in 1–2 working days from Cape Town, then take a further 3–5 business days to main centres and up to 7 to outlying areas. We ship nationwide within South Africa. Delivery is R85, free on orders of R300 and over.
It isn't for me — can I send it back?
If it is unopened and still sealed, tell us within 7 days and we'll refund you — you pay the return postage. We can't take back an opened bag, for food safety reasons. If something is actually wrong with it, the Consumer Protection Act gives you six months: email us and we'll put it right.
Does Mesqi contain caffeine?
No. Mesqi is naturally caffeine-free and won't cause jitters or crashes.
What does it taste like?
Roasty and naturally sweet — cocoa, caramel, toasted grain and a honey finish. Closer to a dark roast than to anything herbal.
How do I brew it?
Exactly like coffee: a heaped teaspoon per 250ml, in an espresso machine, moka pot, French press, Aeropress or pour-over. It arrives already ground, so there is no grinder and no new kit.
Will it still give me energy without caffeine?
Mesquite is rich in low-GI carbohydrates and prebiotic fibre, for steady, sustained energy rather than a spike.
Does it contain additives or sweeteners?
No. Organic mesquite pods. Nothing else.
Is it vegan and gluten-free?
Yes. 100% plant-based and naturally gluten-free.
What does “wild-harvested” mean?
Pods are collected from trees growing naturally — no irrigation, no pesticides, no cultivation. In South Africa mesquite is an invasive species, so every pod we take is one the land is glad to lose.
Is it safe during pregnancy or breastfeeding?
Mesqi contains no caffeine. We're not able to give medical advice, so if you're pregnant or breastfeeding please check with your healthcare professional.
